Last month I was approached by one half of Australian fashion label, SHEKUDO to do the make-up for their online look-book! Amy and Shetu (Directors) are pretty incredible woman for a handful of reasons; beyond having achieved heaps despite their youth! They are endlessly creative, effortlessly cool, socially conscious, ethically upstanding and all-round good fun.
This collection Wahala: [we have]"...infused elements of African culture into everyday wearable styles, with a hint of vintage attitude, denim and street- style interwoven in the mix.
Our label believes very powerfully in the illustration of ones character through fashion, and feels, the need to transcend trends so that its loyalists can feel a sense of individuality and confidence in every SheKudo garment they wear."
While I have your attention, should we discuss Maria Tarantello; our model? She is genuinely captivating, both in appearance and character.
I have always been a huge advocate for local fashion and locally made garments - I won't bother to list the ethical issues the overseas clothes manufacturers in developing countries are currently battling, I will however, tell you how proud I am to be associated with a young label, doing everything right.
So much love ladies, see you next season! Lf x
